The Chimet Support Group (CSG) comprises volunteers who are all retired professionals and freelace consultants.

Their purpose is the establishment and support of weather-reporting websites, with free-to-the-public access.

The first Chimet website was designed and built in December 2000, by Timothy Yau-Kwan Chan, as part of an MSc in Computing and Information Systems at Greenwich University. CSG is very grateful to Tim for all his effort.

Chimet was followed by another site, Cambermet, in June 2003. Two more sites, Bramblemet and Sotonmet, were added in June 2004.
